Chapter 3. (Garbology)
Puente Hills. A city that is full of all our trash. That's right, for those of you who don't know where our trash goes to, it goes to Puente Hills. I really can't imagine what living around that city even smells like. That's terrible! I don't even want to begin to imagine the kinds of things we could find in that city. From plastic bags to bodies that were never found to skulls, my God, the list goes on! What do we do about all the trash we've built? How do we get rid of it now? People who work out there have seen not only this, but things that we could really still be using. Things that aren't even trash. That is such a shame. I'm sure if we all had an opportunity to work there at some point we'd all change our minds about the next time we throw out any trash. "Wastefulness has become a part of the America way of life." I could definitely see how that is true. Puente Hills will soon be getting full of our trash. Sooner than we know it and it's only up to us to figure out a solution. Let's see how this goes...

Chapter Two
Chapter 2. (Garbology)
Humes' is really trying to get somewhere with letting us know about the masses of trash we just have laying around the world and I could really tell you that this is getting very interesting. He brings up some very good points and questions that left me thinking "well, what do we really do about it now?" Do we just give up because this is already very bad? Little did I know, that the Greeks actually had the same problem 2500 years ago, but they were actually a lot worse. They created the first municipal dump in history in attempt to reduce the amount of trash they had in the streets. Some of the cities would live in their trash and some would dump it down to the sewage. I guess figuring out what do to with our trash has been a problem ever since. Who would have known? In this chapter, he tells us about the early twentieth century New York. The place that we see today with pretty lights everywhere and celebrities taking over such a beautiful city has not always been so "pretty". Back then, they would have their pigs take the trash that they wanted to get rid of and it eventually made them all very sick. Obviously! There were all kinds of different diseases going around that finally led them to wake up a little, yet some STILL didn't care. Oh, America! That doesn't even surprise me because people of today don't seem to care either. It wasn't until they actually had to make an army of people called the "White wings" to come and force sanitation on the city that people started taking out their trash. It worked for a little but lets be real, these people complained and eventually contiued to throw their trash out the window. Seems like his plan didn't really work for him!

Chapter 1 Summary. (Garbology)
It amazes me to see how much some people are so unaware of the tragedy going on in America. I didn't even know what the word "hoarding" was before this. It's insane! We, the people of America, create more trash than anyone in the world. People do not even realize that what we're doing to our Earth is really affecting us more than we think. I just read in the beginning of the book how some people died in their own trash. How could anyone even let that begin to happen? Unfortunately, I think that more people have actually gone about having their trash build up in their homes more than we know. If you really think about it, we spend money on buying, we spend money on getting it thrown away and we possibly even spend money on recycling it and getting them to landfills. So basically all we do, is throw our money if you think about it in that sense. I think its time for us to wake up and do something about this because it will only get worse. I'm excited to keep reading about this crisis in the world and finding a solution to it!
